More healthy eating

healthy snacking - khichadi.comJust recently I blogged about smart snacking, and it seems to me, that even though I think I know it all or have read it all somewhere, sometime, it’s still a new revelation each time, and a new awareness that I just don’t follow through on what I know. Just had to share this list I found from various places. A list of twenty-five snacks or mini meals that are 100 calories or less.

Mixed Olives About 8 olives.
Air popped popcorn 3 cups
Almonds 16 – 20
Apple 1
Baked tortilla chips 10
Banana 1
Fig bars 2
Raisins 3 table snoons
Mixed dried fruits ¼ cup
White bread 1 slice
Fruit juice Popsicle 1
Ginger snap cookies 1 cookies about 5 cm wide
Grapes ¾ cup
Sorbet ½ cup
Hard boiled egg 1
Low fat string cheese 1 piece
Orange 1
Non-fat frozen yogurt ½ cup
Peanut butter 1 tablespoon
Pistachios in shells 1 handful
Pretzels 40 thin sticks
Mashed potatoes with milk & butter ½ cup
Pumpkin or sunflower seeds in shells – 1 handful
Chocolate Milk 6 ounces skim milk mixed with 2 teaspoons chocolate syrup
Cucumber salad One large cucumber (sliced) with 2 tablespoons chopped red onion and 2 tablespoons apple-cider vinegar.
