Crispy Baked Sweet Potato

I’ve been seeing a lot of Sweet Potatoes in the market these days as I mentioned earlier. Time to get creative, I decided.
This recipe is as healthy as you can get. Barely there oil, and no sugars except natural, but a handful of these can satiate all the snack and junk food urges you may have.


  • 2 large Sweet Potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste


Step 1

Scrub the sweet potatoes, slice them as fine as you can and lay them out on kitchen paper to dry nicely.

Step 2

Pour the olive oil onto a plate. Stir in some salt and pepper and mix vigorously. You can actually do without the salt altogether - make it really healthy!

Step 3

Now use your fingers to put the sweet potato slices into the oil and coat thoroughly, a few at a time, then removing and laying them on a large flat baking tray. Repeat till you're done.

Step 4

Pop them into the oven at the lowest setting and leave to crisp.

Step 5

Remove once after 10 minutes to flip them all over.

Step 6

Twenty minutes should have them lovely and crisp, - don’t let them burn.

Step 7

Cool and enjoy.
