Grilled Lemon Garlic Fish

As the festival season gets underway, much as I resist it, it seems suspiciously like temptation is going to hound me into the New Year, what with all the different sweets and snacks sitting around my kitchen and dining room.
Sort of to offset that I made a light, healthful dinner last night. Just some raw and boiled vegetables as a side with a delicious grilled slice of King fish. Of course any white fish would do as well.



  • King Fish - 2 thick slices,
  • Garlic 3 cloves,
  • Lemon juice 1/4 cup,
  • Olive Oil 1 tbsp,
  • Oregano 1 tsp,
  • 1 tsp butter,
  • salt to taste
  • pepper 1 tsp


Step 1

Crush the garlic and mix it vigorously into the lemon juice and olive oil. Add salt.

Step 2

Marinate the fish for at least an hour.

Step 3

Place the fish on a grilling tray and add dabs of the butter all over. Grill for about 7 minutes each side, or till a fork goes in neatly.

Step 4

I find putting slices of tomato on and around helps keep the moisture and as a simple indication of how the grilling is going.

Step 5

You'll soon be able to smell the aroma. Remove and serve hot.

It was a simple dish with an aromatic flavor. Quick, simple and filling, like all good food should be!
